Shelby Hall

Shelby is a 3L J.D. Candidate graduating in May 2016. Shelby grew up in Ovilla, Texas and attended Red Oak High School. She also attended Abilene Christian University where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. While attending ACU, she served as a pitcher for the university’s softball team and was named to the Lone Star Conference’s All-Academic Team three times.

In addition to being a Comment Editor for Volume 48 of the Texas Tech Law Review, Shelby serves as a teaching fellow for Professor Brie Sherwin’s legal practice class. Shelby is also a member of the Board of Barristers where she serves as the Director of Written Advocacy. Further, Shelby has competed as a brief writer for Tech’s advocacy program, winning best overall brief at the Hassell Constitutional Law Moot Court Competition in 2014 and best overall brief for Region 10 of the National Moot Court Competition in 2015. She and her teammates attended the national finals in February 2016 for the National Moot Court Competition in New York City, taking home the national championship.

Shelby’s experience includes working as a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Les Hatch in the 237th District Court, working as a law clerk for a Lubbock civil firm, and working in the Lubbock District Attorney’s Office in the Appellate Division. Shelby’s legal interests include general civil litigation and appeals, corporate transactions, and estate planning.
