John Garza

John Garza is a 3L J.D. Candidate graduating in May 2016. He was born in Pensacola, Florida, and moved to San Juan, Texas when he was ten years old. John graduated summa cum laude from Texas State University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Mass Communication. While attending Texas State University, John was a member of the Associated Student Government and Vice President of the honors society Alpha Lambda Delta. John is currently an Articles Editor on the Texas Tech Law Review and was a Regional Extern in Austin at the Texas Legislature in Spring 2015.

John currently works at the Texas Tech Law Library as a Reference Student Assistant. After his second semester of law school, John clerked at Aliseda & Associates, an insurance defense firm in Edinburg, Texas, and at the South Texas Civil Rights project in Alamo, Texas. After his first semester of law school, John clerked at the Office of the Federal Public Defender in McAllen, Texas. John is interested in a variety of practice areas, including criminal law, medical malpractice, and legislative policy.
