Catharine Hansard
Catharine is a 3L J.D. Candidate graduating in May 2016. Catharine grew up in Lubbock, Texas, and attended the University of Texas at Austin where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Government. Prior to attending law school, Catharine worked for the Lubbock Independent School District.
In addition to being Lead Articles Editor for Volume 48 of the Texas Tech Law Review, Catharine serves as a Research Assistant for Professors Eric Chiappinelli and Dustin Benham. She also previously served as a Contracts tutor for Professor Brian Shannon and a Legal Practice Teaching Fellow for Professor Nancy Soonpaa. Catharine served as Treasurer of the Organization of Women Law Students and is a member of Phi Delta Phi. Catharine’s experience includes working as an intern for the Honorable Robert L. Jones in the Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas and as a law clerk in the Administrative Law Division at the Texas Attorney General’s office. Catharine’s legal interests include corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and private equity, and after graduating, she will join Thompson & Knight LLP in Dallas, Texas, as an associate attorney in the firm’s Corporate and Securities practice group.
