Julio Mendoza
Julio Mendoza is a 3L J.D. Candidate graduating in May 2016. He grew up in Wimberley, Texas, near Austin. Julio earned his Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. He also received minors in Speech and Hearing Sciences and Chicano Studies.
Julio is an Articles Editor for Volume 48 of the Texas Tech Law Review. As a Staff Member, he was awarded Outstanding Staff Editor for Volume 47. He has received multiple distinction awards and scholarships for his academic achievements. He has volunteered as a Dean’s Community Teaching Fellow at Estacado High School. He is interested in Commercial law, Corporate law, Bankruptcy, Tax, Energy, and International law. During law school, he has worked as an intern for small to medium firms and served as a graduate assistant for Associate Dean Jorge Ramirez. He has also clerked with the Honorable Lora J. Livingston at the 261st Civil District Court in Travis County. He is spending his final semester as a full time extern with the Texas Tech Regional Externship Program at the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts. He speaks both Spanish and English, and he is an avid runner and fisherman.
