Jeri Leigh McDowell

Jeri Leigh is a J.D. Candidate graduating in May 2016. Jeri Leigh grew up in Glen Rose, Texas, and attended Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in History and Anthropology. Prior to attending law school, Jeri Leigh worked for the Texas Attorney General, Child Support Division negotiating orders. 

In addition to being Student Writing Editor for Volume 48 of the Texas Tech Law Review, Jeri Leigh acts as the co-head editor of and regular contributor to Volume 38 & 39 of the Texas Bank Lawyer . Jeri Leigh also served as a Contracts tutor for Professor Dean Pawlowic, a Constitutional Law tutor for Professor John Watts, and a Research Assistant for Professor Richard Murphy. Finally, Jeri Leigh serves as a member of the Board of Barristers, is the past President of the Business and Bankruptcy Law Association, volunteers with the Coalition of Community Assistance in Lubbock, and works within the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic. 

Jeri Leigh’s legal interests include bankruptcy reorganizations and financial litigation. After graduating she plans to spend a year clerking for the Honorable Judge H. Christopher Mott in the Western District of Texas Bankruptcy Court before joining Weil, Gotshal & Manges in Dallas, Texas as a litigation associate.
