The Texas Tech Law Review and the Texas Tech Journal of the Energy Law Practitioner hosted the 2024 Energy Law Symposium on October 20, 2024. Email Tyler Roberts at Tyler.Roberts@ttu.edu for CLE information.

Texas is the energy capital of the United States, and the Permian Basin is the energy capital of Texas, the United States, and the world. Texas is the #1 state in crude-oil and natural-gas production, #1 in wind production, and #2 in solar production. Energy production in Texas is prolific, but it is also true that a lot of these activities are competing to operate on the same property–and that can cause issues. As is often the case, technology and business are out ahead of the law, so there are no clear rules yet. This symposium will bring together various speakers and experiences from the field to discuss how they have managed to co-exist and the issues you should anticipate and might have to confront and resolve.

This year’s symposium will be held on October 20, 2023, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM at the Mark & Becky Lanier Professional Development Center Auditorium at Texas Tech School of Law.
