Summer Johnson

Summer Johnson is a 3L J.D. candidate who will graduate in May 2023. Summer grew up in Amarillo, Texas and graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in University Studies with concentrations in Engineering, Math, and Organizational Leadership in 2015. Prior to law school, Summer worked as a legal assistant at various law firms.

In addition to serving as an Articles Editor for Volume 55 of the Texas Tech Law Review, Summer is a research assistant and criminal law tutor for Professor Geoffrey Corn. Summer also represents Texas Tech as a brief writer in National Moot Court competitions and is a member of the Board of Barristers, Dean’s Ambassadors, Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society, and the Organization of Women Law Students. Additionally, Summer’s student article “Is the Government Taking You for a Loop? Why There Needs to Be National Regulations or Stricter Regulations in Texas for Amusement Parks” will be published in the Texas Tech Law Review in the fall of 2022. 

Following her 2L year, Summer was a Summer Associate at Holland & Knight in Dallas, Texas. Summer’s areas of interest include real estate and corporate law.
