Sophie Bunn

Sophie Bunn is a second-year law student at Texas Tech University School of Law, graduating in May 2028. Sophie was born in Austin, Texas, and grew up in Longview, Texas, before returning to Austin for her undergraduate education. She graduated from the University of Texas in 2023 with a Bachelor of Journalism and a minor in government.

Prior to law school, Sophie lived in Rome, Italy, with a local family and worked as an au pair. She later worked as a reporter for the Marion County Herald, interned at Ward, Smith & Hill, and worked as an assistant for a local mitigation specialist. Sophie also spent time as the communications director for a local, grassroots campaign for the Texas House of Representatives.

In her first year of law school, Sophie earned an academic distinction award in her legal writing class and succeeded as champion in the 1L Moot Court Competition, finalist in the 1L Negotiations Competition, and octa-finalist in the 1L Mock Trial Competition. Over the summer of 2026, Sophie interned for the Honorable Susan Hightower at the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas in Austin and worked as a summer associate at Fee, Smith & Sharp in Dallas.

In addition to being a member of Law Review, Sophie is on the National Moot Court team as a brief writer and oral advocate. Outside of law School, Sophie enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, and cheering on the Longhorns from a few hundred miles away.
