Sarah Courtney

Sarah Courtney is a 3L J.D. candidate who will graduate in May 2024. She is also pursuing her Master of Science in Sport Management. She was born and raised in Plano, Texas. She graduated from Louisiana State University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Administration concentrated in Sport Leadership, and a minor in Leadership Development.

In addition to serving as an Articles Editor for Volume 56 of the Texas Tech Law Review, Sarah is also the Clerk for the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society, a member of the Texas Tech Inn of Court, and a Legal Practice Teaching Fellow for Dean Wendy Humphrey.

Following her 1L year, Sarah interned for the Honorable Judge Martin Hoffman in Dallas, Texas. She had the unique opportunity to participate in both of Judge Hoffman’s summer intern sessions. She also placed as a finalist in Judge Hoffman’s memo writing competition.

During her 2L year, Sarah represented Tech Law at the ABA Client Counseling Competition and finished as a Regional Champion. She also served as a brief writer at the Frank A. Schreck Gaming Law Moot Court Competition.

Following her 2L year, Sarah clerked for Cobb Martinez Woodward and McCathern Law in Dallas, Texas. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys live music, attending concerts, watching sports, travelling, and spending time with her friends and family.
