Samuel Dick

Samuel “Sam” Dick is a third-year law student who will graduate in May 2025.  Sam was born and raised on a cattle ranch in Dexter, Texas.  Sam graduated summa cum laude from American Military University in 2020, majoring in criminal justice with a minor in criminology.
 
In 2017, Sam enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and was deployed.  Sam spent his time in the military as a scout sniper attached to a special operations unit—1st Reconnaissance Battalion—and left the service in 2022 as a Sergeant.  
 
In addition to serving as Editor in Chief for Volume 56 of Texas Tech Law Review, Sam is a member of the Federalist Society, the Christian Legal Society, and the Energy Law Interest Group, and chairs the Texas Tech Leadership Board.  Sam has also competed in mock trial and moot court.
 
Upon graduation, Sam will be a judicial clerk for Chief Judge John Broomes for the U.S. District Court, District of Kansas. Following his clerkship, he plans to work in Fort Worth, Texas, and focus his practice on civil litigation.
 
Sam is married and his lovely wife works as a special-needs elementary school teacher.   Sam enjoys skydiving, precision shooting, Dallas Cowboys football, and playing “tea party” with his two daughters.
