Rebecca Reed

Rebecca Reed is a second-year law student who will graduate in May 2027. She was born and raised in Midland, Texas. Rebecca graduated from St. Mary’s University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing. She later graduated from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2024 with a Master of Jurisprudence in General Law. During her time at St. Mary’s University, Rebecca received numerous accolades while competing for the women’s golf team.

For two summers prior to attending law school, Rebecca interned in the Midland Land Department at Plains Oryx Permian Basin. There, she gained experience in pipeline right-of-way and developed her passion for energy law.

During her 1L summer, Rebecca clerked for Dawson Springman, PLLC where she ran mineral title and drafted title opinions. She also had the opportunity to review and draft various types of contractual agreements for clients in the oil and gas industry.

Rebecca is serving as a staff member for Texas Tech Law Review and the Journal of the Energy Law Practitioner. She is also involved in the Energy Law Interest Group and the Federalist Society.

In her spare time, Rebecca enjoys playing golf (from the ladies’ tees now that she is “retired”), hiking with her dogs, and praying that it takes the Chicago Cubs less than 108 years to win another World Series.
