Morgan Nelson

Morgan Nelson is a 3L J.D. candidate graduating in May 2023. Morgan grew up in Dimmitt, Texas, a small town in the Texas Panhandle. She graduated from Pepperdine University in 2020 where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Religion with a minor in Writing and Rhetoric.
 
In addition to serving as a comment editor of Texas Tech Law Review, Morgan is also a student attorney in Texas Tech Law’s Caprock Regional Public Defender Office. 
 
During her 1L summer, Morgan worked as a law clerk for two different local Lubbock firms. Throughout her 2L year and 2L summer, Morgan worked at another local firm, The Michael Carper Law Firm, where she gained experience in criminal defense, family law, and property law. Morgan’s primary legal interests include criminal defense and family law. Outside of law school, Morgan enjoys traveling with family and friends, listening to a variety of podcasts, and finding time to read novels and spend time with her cats.
