Micah Stephens

Micah Stephens is a J.D. candidate who will graduate in May 2026. Micah grew up in Lubbock, Texas and loved the city so much she continued her education at Texas Tech University. She graduated in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Political Science specializing in Literature and Language.

Following her 1L year, Micah spent the summer clerking for the Honorable Judge Les Hatch of the 237th District where she primarily conducted legal research and drafted memos over a wide range of civil issues.

In addition to serving as a Texas Tech Law Review member, Micah will spend a portion of her 2L and 3L year as Dr. Brie Sherwin’s Legal Practice Teaching Fellow where she will grade research workshops and citations.

Micah has a three-year-old son, Nolan, and a wonderful husband, Matthew, that have supported her and been instrumental in her success at Texas Tech Law. Micah and her family love to spend time together playing outside, watching movies, and pretending to be tigers. Micah, in her limited free time, enjoys reading fiction literature and crafting.

The Lubbock community has shaped Micah as an individual, and she plans to stay here after graduation to continue to foster the relationships she has made in Lubbock.
