Maximilian “Max” Koester is a second-year law student set to graduate in May 2026. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, and raised in Clackamas, Oregon, Max graduated from Texas Christian University in 2022. He earned a major in business management and a minor in political science.
At law school, Max actively contributes as a Staff Member for Volume 57 of the Texas Tech Law Review. He will compete on Texas Tech’s National Moot Court team and serves as a Dean’s Ambassador.
After his first year of law school, Max spent his summer as a law clerk for Chock Barhoum, LLP, a premier civil litigation firm in Portland, Oregon. There, Max expanded his knowledge and passion for client advocacy when he conducted legal research, drafted memorandum, and drafted legal documents and developed legal arguments.
Max accepted a Summer Associate position with Foley & Lardner’s Dallas office for next summer, joining their esteemed corporate transactional team. He is excited for the opportunity to get to work in the city he hopes to start his career after law school and learn from some of the best attorneys in the country.
Outside of law school, Max continues to stay close with his family, including his younger brother and sister. Max stays busy outside of class with his non-legal hobbies including sports, nutrition, chess, country music, and comedy. Service leadership is important to Max, and he has earned recognition on the Pro Bono Honor Roll for his volunteer efforts.
