Madalena Almanza
Madalena Almanza is a third-year law student who will graduate in May 2024. She grew up in Austin, Texas, and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in May of 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and a minor in Human Rights & Social Justice.
In addition to serving as Managing Editor for Volume 56 of the Texas Tech Law Review, Madalena is a member of the Texas Tech Energy Law Association and the Sports and Entertainment Law Society. Before law school, Madalena conducted research for and co-authored a chapter of Professors William Kelly and Daniel Mears’ book “The Reinvention of Policing: Crime Prevention, Community, and Public Safety.” Additionally, her student Comment, “Come and Take It: A New Judicial Standard for SWAT Takings in Texas,” will be published in an upcoming edition of the Texas Tech Law Review.
Following her 2L year, Madalena split her summer clerking for Underwood Law Firm in Amarillo, Texas, and Toeppich & Associates in Houston, Texas. Madalena’s areas of interest include oil and gas law, real estate transactions, and business litigation. In her spare time, Madalena enjoys watching sports, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family.
