Kaitlyn Mires is a second-year law student who will graduate in May 2026. She was raised in Allen, Texas. Kaitlyn graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2022, majoring in strategic communications with a minor in marketing. Prior to attending law school, she worked at Tyler Technologies in their internal communications department.
In addition to serving as a staff member for Volume 57 of Texas Tech Law Review, Kaitlyn also serves on the executive board for the Intellectual Property Association. She is a member of the Business Law Association, the Organization of Women Law Students, and is a Themis Bar Representative.
Following her 1L year, Kaitlyn interned for Abernathy, Roeder, Boyd, & Hullett in McKinney, Texas, where she drafted various legal documents, conducted legal research, and assisted attorneys with trial preparation. For the second half of the summer, Kaitlyn interned for Magistrate Judge Dustin Howell at the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, located in Austin, Texas, where she drafted report and recommendations for the court, conducted legal research, and observed court proceedings.
In her spare time, Kaitlyn enjoys walking her dog, cooking, baking, exercising, and spending time with friends and family. Kaitlyn’s primary legal interests include appellate, intellectual property, technology, environmental, and education law.
