Josh McKinney is a second-year law student who will graduate in May 2027. Josh is from College Station, Texas and attended College Station High School. Josh graduated from the University of Alabama in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
Before law school, Josh worked as a server and bartender, an experience which taught him the value of hard work and honest human connection, but also motivated him to pursue more for himself through a career in law. During his 1L summer, Josh interned for the 281st Civil District Court in Harris County, Texas. While there, he assisted in reviewing case law, drafted legal memoranda, and observed a variety of hearings and trials.
In addition to serving as a Texas Tech Law Review member, Josh serves as treasurer for the Intellectual Property Student Association.
In his free time, Josh enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing with his dog Scout, and occasionally unwinding with video games.
