Jonathon Gabehart is a J.D. candidate who will graduate in May 2026. Jonathon was raised in Big Spring, Texas and attended Forsan High School. After graduating from the junior college in Big Spring, Howard College, with an Associate’s Degree, Jonathon transferred to Texas Tech University. Ultimately, Jonathon graduated from Texas Tech with a degree in History and a Minor in Legal Studies.
While studying at Texas Tech for undergrad, Jonathon was involved in various Pre-Law organizations, including the Pre-Law Academy hosted at Texas Tech’s Law School by Dean Wendy-Adele Humphrey. These formative experiences with excellent mentors made Jonathon realize that a legal career was the right fit for him.
In addition to serving as a Texas Tech Law Review member, Jonathon serves as the Student Bar Association President for the Class of 2026. He is also a member of the Federalist Society, the Christian Legal Society, the Energy Law Interest Group, and the Prosecution Law Society.
Following his 1L year, Jonathon spent the first half of his summer clerking for Crenshaw, Dupree & Milam. There, he conducted legal research and did extensive work for active federal and state cases, especially government defense work. Jonathon then spent the second half of his summer working as an intern at the General Counsel’s Office for the Texas Tech University System, where he primarily conducted legal research surrounding the recent developments in NCAA athletics.
Jonathon is married and his lovely wife works as an Occupational Therapist. In his spare time, Jonathon enjoys reading, traveling, bowhunting, and woodworking.
