Joel Rivero is a second-year law student at Texas Tech University School of Law, where he is expected to graduate in May 2028. A native of Midland, Texas, Joel attended Texas Tech University for his undergraduate studies, earning degrees in Finance and Political Science.
In addition to serving as a Volume 59 Staff Member, Joel serves as a Legal Practice Teaching Fellow for Dr. Brie Sherwin. He is also a member of Texas Tech Law’s Mock Trial and Moot Court National Competition teams and serves as a Dean’s Ambassador.
After his first year, Joel split his summer between working as a law clerk at Davis, Gerald, and Cremer, a boutique oil & gas law firm, and interning for the Honorable Amanda “Amy” R. Burch in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
Following his second year, Joel will join Holland & Knight’s Dallas Office as a summer associate, working in the Real Estate Transactions practice group.
In his free time, Joel enjoys playing pickleball, watching Texas Tech sports, working out, and spending time with family and friends.
