Emily Roberts

Emily Roberts is a 3L law student who will graduate in May 2025. Emily grew up in Merkel, Texas. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Texas Tech University in 2020. 

Prior to law school, Emily worked as a member of the accounting staff at a cotton cooperative. There, she served as a banking coordinator. Her main duties in this role included basic accounting duties as well as facilitating banking transactions between institutions.

In addition to serving as Senior Articles Editor for Volume 57 of Texas Tech Law Review, Emily serves as a Legal Practice Teaching Fellow for Professor Brandon Beck. She is a member of the Organization for Women Law Students. As a 3L, Emily is also a member of the Board of Barristers.

Following her 2L year, Emily began her internship with Judge Jeff Propst in the 104th District Court in Abilene, Texas where she observed criminal and civil proceedings, conducted legal research, drafted legal memorandums, and learned about the inner workings of the judicial system. Emily’s primary interest is civil litigation.

Upon graduating, Emily and her husband, Hunter, will move to Abilene, Texas, where she plans to practice law. In her free time, Emily enjoys hiking, travelling, crocheting, and playing with her golden mountain doodle, Archie.
