Emily Jacobs

Emily Jacobs is a 3L J.D. candidate who will graduate in May 2024. Emily grew up in Lumberton, Texas. She graduated from Texas A&M University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in General Business and minors in Financial Planning and Communication.

Emily spent her 1L summer as an intern at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. There, she gained hands-on experience in the workings of the justice system by drafting motions, conducting witness and complainant interviews, and reviewing evidence for various felony charges. During her 2L summer, Emily participated in Dykema’s Summer Associate Program, where she worked on several complex legal issues. Those include structuring dental services organizations to comply with state law, researching and writing memos on questions of law related to advertising regulations, and researching state tax laws to determine and apply for appropriate exemptions.

In addition to serving as an Articles Editor for Volume 56 of the Texas Tech Law Review, Emily is a member of Outlaw and the Organization of Women Law Students. Outside of law school, Emily enjoys reading, singing, attending concerts, and writing.
