Cierra Garcia

Cierra Garcia is a third-year law student at Texas Tech University School of Law and will graduate in May 2027. She was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. Cierra graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sustainability Studies.

Following her 1L year, Cierra spent the first half of her summer clerking in the Environmental Protection Division of the Texas Attorney General’s Office. She then spent the second half of her summer as a judicial intern for Judge Susan Barclay of the 117th District Court in Corpus Christi, Texas.

During law school, Cierra has been actively involved in the Texas Tech Law community. She serves on the Executive Board of the Texas Tech Law Review as Student Writing Editor and on the Executive Board of the Student Bar Association as Vice President of Administration. Cierra also participates in the Civil Practice Clinic, where she gains practical experience representing clients under the supervision of licensed attorneys.

Following law school graduation, Cierra will join Akerman LLP as an Associate in its Dallas office, where she will practice commercial litigation and insurance defense.

In her free time, Cierra enjoys going on walks with her dog, reading, playing pickleball, and spending time with family and friends.
