Chance Fraser is a second-year law student graduating in May 2026. Born and raised in San Marcos, Texas, Chance enjoys visiting his friends and family in the Texas Hill Country whenever possible. In 2023, Chance graduated cum laude from the Texas Tech Rawls College of Business, majoring in Energy Commerce with an emphasis on Petroleum Land Management.
After graduation, Chance is interested in a corporate energy-related practice. His previous work experience includes interning with Valero Energy Corporation’s commercial product-supply group, researching for the Texas Railroad Commission regarding “orphan” oil-and-gas wells, and examining surface titles for Title One, a Lubbock title insurance company. Additionally, Chance spent his 1L summer clerking for the Midland oil-and-gas boutique law firm Davis, Gerald and Cremer, where he researched, drafted, and prepared an Original Division Order Title Opinion covering West Texas lands.
Chance is excited to join Foley and Lardner’s (Foley Gardere) Houston office next summer. There, he will work with the Finance practice group, which specializes in energy transactions.
In his free time, Chance enjoys being with his lovely girlfriend and their two cats. He also enjoys snowboarding, golfing, hiking, and supporting the Houston Astros, Houston Texans, and Chelsea FC.
