Cameron Hekkert
Cameron is a 3L J.D. candidate from Denver, Colorado. She graduated in May of 2021 from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management. Cameron also served as the 59th Texas Tech Masked Rider from 2020-2021.
In addition to serving as an Articles Editor for the Texas Tech Law Review, Cameron is a member of the Board of Barristers, a national team advocacy competitor in moot court and mock trial, and a tutor for 1L Contracts. Further, her law review comment, “It’s Payback Time: Improving Texas’s Standard for Compensating the Wrongfully Imprisoned,” will be published in an upcoming edition of the American Journal of Criminal Law.
Following her 2L year, Cameron worked as a summer associate with Davis, Gerald, and Cremer in Midland, Texas and with Wick Phillips in Dallas, Texas. Cameron’s areas of interest include oil and gas law, energy law, and commercial litigation. In her spare time, Cameron enjoys spending time with her horse, Pickle, and her dog, Juice, as well as traveling and attending Texas Tech sporting events!
