Ben is a 3L J.D. candidate who will graduate in May 2023. Ben grew up in Arlington, Texas, and graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Anthropology in 2011.
For over seven years prior to law school, Ben worked at a consumer reporting agency that conducted pre-employment background checks for corporate clients. The summer after his 1L year, Ben interned for Magistrate Judge Gordon Bryant at U.S. District Court in the Lubbock Division of the Northern District of Texas where he conducted legal research on prisoner litigation and other matters. During and following his 2L year, Ben worked as a law clerk for Attorney Dean Boyd (“The Tank”) in Lubbock, Texas, a personal injury firm, where he learned about civil litigation, drafted motions, conducted discovery, attended mediations and depositions, and researched nuanced legal issues.
In addition to serving as an Articles Editor for Volume 55 of the Texas Tech Law Review, Ben is a Dean’s Ambassador, a member of Phi Delta Phi, and participates in the Advanced ADR Clinic. Ben’s primary legal interests include personal injury, estate planning, energy law, and international law.
Outside of law school, Ben enjoys spending time with his five-year-old son and three-year-old daughter.
