Alexa Popovich is a J.D. candidate at Texas Tech University School of Law, where she will graduate in May 2028. Originally from Houston, Texas, Alexa moved to Lubbock to attend Texas Tech University, earning her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science with a minor in Chemistry in 2019.
Following her first year of law school, Alexa served as a summer clerk at Davis, Gerald & Cremer in Midland, Texas, where she gained experience in both title and litigation matters within the oil and gas industry. During her clerkship, she conducted extensive title research, prepared an original drilling title opinion, and drafted legal memoranda and motions addressing a variety of oil and gas related issues.
In law school, Alexa is a writer for The Texas Bank Lawyer and a member of Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society. During her first year, she competed in both Negotiations and Moot Court through the Board of Barristers competitions. Alexa also volunteers with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, serving as a certified tax preparer for members of the Lubbock community.
Outside of law school, Alexa enjoys riding, training, and competing with horses and is an advocate for the Retired Racehorse Project, an organization dedicated to promoting second careers for retired Thoroughbred racehorses.
