Alec Rubin is a second-year law student who will graduate in May 2027. He was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, and is a graduate of Palos Verdes High School. In 2018, Alec earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Business Administration from the University of Washington in Seattle.
Before attending law school, Alec built a successful career as a strategy and operations leader at several technology startups in Seattle and San Diego. Following his 1L year, Alec served as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Judge Les Hatch of the 237th District Court in Lubbock County, Texas. In that role, he conducted legal research and drafted memoranda on complex civil and family law matters.
In addition to serving as a staff member for Volume 58 of the Texas Tech Law Review, Alec serves as the American Bar Association Representative for the Class of 2027 for the Student Bar Association. He is also a member of the Federalist Society and the Sports and Entertainment Law Society, and he competes in Tech Law’s intraschool advocacy competitions.
In his free time, Alec enjoys playing golf and pickleball, watching sports, lifting weights, and spending time with family and friends.
