Benjamin Fonville is a second-year law student who will graduate in May of 2027. He graduated cum laude with Honors from the Honors College from Texas Tech University in May 2023, having obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance.
Following graduation, Benjamin remained in Lubbock and began working as a commercial real estate asset manager. After a year in the commercial real estate industry, Benjamin made the decision to pursue a career in law and returned to Texas Tech to ensure his status as a lifelong Red Raider. During his 1L year, Benjamin participated in the 1L Board of Barristers competitions, wrote blurbs for the Texas Bank Lawyer, and volunteered as a VITA tax preparer.
In addition to serving as a staff member for Volume 58 of Texas Tech Law Review, Benjamin also serves as a tutor for Professor Camp’s 1L Civil Procedure course and competes in the intraschool advocacy competitions at Tech Law. Following his 1L year, Benjamin clerked for the 132nd District Court of Texas. There, he did extensive research for the District Judge on both civil and criminal matters litigated in that court.
Outside of the law, Benjamin spends his free time socializing with friends, reading, lifting weights, spending time with his lovely girlfriend, and agonizing over Texas Tech sports.
