Talon Tarone

Talon Tarone is a third-year law student at Texas Tech University School of Law, expected to graduate in May 2026. Originally from Utah County, Utah, Talon was raised in Denver and Las Vegas before earning his undergraduate degree from the University of Utah in 2022. He majored in biology with a minor in chemistry, focusing on human anatomy and physiology.

At Texas Tech Law, Talon is an Articles Editor for Volume 58 of the Texas Tech Law Review and a member of the Federalist Society. He has been recognized for his performance in advocacy competitions—including negotiations, mock trial, and moot court—where he was named a top oralist and semifinalist. He will also serve as a Civil Procedure tutor during the upcoming semester.

Talon has built a strong foundation in legal practice through a variety of internships and clerkships. He spent his 1L summer with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas in Lubbock. During his 2L summer, he clerked at Crenshaw, Dupree & Milam, LLP, and interned with the Texas Tech University Office of General Counsel. This fall, he will intern for the Honorable James Wesley Hendrix, Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas.

Outside of law school, Talon is married to Haley, an interior designer, and together they enjoy spending time with their two dogs, Cowboy and Bear. Talon is passionate about volunteering at his church, playing basketball and golf, and cheering on the Utah Utes football team. After graduation, he and Haley plan to settle in Texas and raise their family.
