Avery Bertagna is a 3L J.D. candidate who will graduate in May 2024. Avery is from Corpus Christi, Texas, and graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Philosophy.
In addition to serving as a Comment Editor for the Texas Tech Law Review, Avery is the Editor in Chief of the Texas Bank Lawyer and the Vice Chair of Administration for the Board of Barristers. This year, Avery will compete in both the National Pretrial Advocacy Competition and the TYLA National Trial Competition. Additionally, her student comment, “Accountability in the Metaverse: The Need for A Notice and Takedown System Under Section 230,” will be published in Book 2, Volume 56 of the Texas Tech Law Review.
Following her 2L year, Avery clerked for Allensworth Law in Austin, Texas. Avery’s areas of interest include commercial and civil litigation. After graduation, she will be returning to Allensworth as an associate attorney in Austin, Texas. In her spare time, Avery enjoys hiking, camping, and traveling.
