2025 Energy Law Symposium

2025 Energy Law Symposium

The Texas Tech Law Review and the Texas Tech Journal of the Energy Law Practitioner will host the 2025 Energy Law Symposium on Friday, October 17, 2025. Email Marcus Braymer at mbraymer@ttu.edu for CLE information.

Being the top energy producer in the nation, Texas is the energy capital of the United States. Right alongside Texas is its neighbor, New Mexico, one of the top three energy producers in the country. Both states produce a significant amount of energy from wind and solar production. Moreover, both states produce a great amount of oil and gas from the shared Permian Basin. The states’ shared border and shared pool of oil and gas can not only lead to conflict and confusion for attorneys representing clients in both states but also provides an opportunity to learn how different states approach similar issues. This symposium will bring together various speakers  from the field to compare and discuss the differences between Texas and New Mexico oil-and-gas law.

This year’s symposium will be held on October 17, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Mark & Becky Lanier Professional Development Center Auditorium at Texas Tech University School of Law. Click here to register.
