Nathan Straley is a 2L J.D. candidate graduating in May 2019. Nathan grew up in Plano, Texas, and attended Southern Methodist University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Human Rights in 2014. During his undergraduate career at SMU and prior to law school, he worked as a legal assistant in a personal injury law firm in Dallas, Texas.
Nathan is interested in transactional law, with a focus on business entity governance and organization, as well as bankruptcy and business reorganization, finance, and real estate. During his 1L summer, he worked in a law firm in Dallas, Texas, that represents a wide range of clients, including those involved in real estate finance and land use, retail construction and development, and general business litigation. In addition to his responsibilities as a Staff Member on Volume 50 of the Texas Tech Law Review, Nathan is an Editorial Board Member of the Texas Bank Lawyer, a monthly publication of banking and financial case law review.
