Eric Matthews is a 3L J.D. candidate graduating in May 2017. He grew up in Lubbock, Texas, and received his bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Texas Tech in 2012. During his undergraduate studies, he started two small businesses and later sold them after his 1L year. Prior to law school, he and his wife also spent time living in Uganda and founded 25:35 Ministries to fund and construct water systems in rural Uganda.
In addition to his position as an Articles Editor for the Texas Tech Law Review, he is a Legal Practice Teaching Fellow for Professor Gossett and serves as an Honor Council Representative for SBA. He previously interned with Justice Willett at the Supreme Court of Texas and with Judge Hatch at the 237th District Court of Texas.
Eric is interested in transactional practice areas, including business and corporate, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate. He will begin his career as an associate attorney at Sprouse Shrader Smith in Amarillo, Texas.
