Emily Shanks is currently a Staff Member on Texas Tech Law Review, Volume 49. She is a 2L J.D. candidate graduating in May 2018. Emily is from Amarillo, Texas, and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from the University of Texas at Austin in 2014.
Emily recently completed internships with Justice Phil Johnson at the Supreme Court of Texas and with Justice James Campbell at the Seventh Court of Appeals. Emily is a writer and an Editorial Board Editor for Texas Bank Lawyer, a tutor for torts, and Professor Benham’s 2L research assistant. Before beginning law school, Emily worked in litigation support conducting research for expert witness reports regarding corporate bankruptcy lawsuits.
